The Holwell Collection
Hal Holwell transferred form St. John's to Corner Brook in 1959 as managing director of Newfoundland Armature Works. Although he and his wife Ada had limited curling experience, they immediately joined the Blomidon Golf and Curling Club. Hal later became the president of the curling section of the club. Both Hal and Ada remained active curling club members until 1973 when they were transferred back to St. John's.
The Corner Brook Curling Club would like to thank the Holwell family for donating their mother's Glengarry hat, numerous curling pins and their father's curling scrapbook to our club. Many of the items can be viewed in the pages below.
